Silly Things

Well, it was an interesting day to say the least. I procrastinated, saw a raccoon in my back yard, and went on a youtube related-videos expedition to match the trip made by Lewis and Clark.

About a week and a half ago, I had my birthday, and while I'd found a place to stash or use most of my birthday presents, one package from one of my best friends lay opened, but not in use, in the corner of my room. This wonderful little package, happened to be the Disney Princesses Fun Set. (Oh joy, right?) My friend obviously bought it as a joke. She didn't really expect me to play with it. Of course she didn't. I had better things to do. So like any normal, highschool aged girl, I sat down on my bedroom floor, and opened the little cannister.

After deciding that the small, purple kalidoscope was neither useful nor worthless, (I couldn't distinguish any form of solid object, but enjoyed the swirly colors,) I turned to the little yoyo. The "yoyo" I won't lie to you, was about the size and shape of one of those mini oreo things, only bright pink with a sticker of one of the disney princesses on it. I've decided that is far superior for the purpose of harassing my cat when swung on the end of the string than it is for the purpose of being a yoyo. Y'know that thing, the paddle thing with a string and a ball at the end that you try to bounce off the paddle repeatedly? Well, I definitely hate it as much as I did in third grade, whatever the thing's called. However, it does function as a pretty good ninja weapon, I concluded, since in my flailing attempts to hit it more than once, the ball collided with the little plastic top, which immediately split in two. (Well, so much for trying that one out...)

All in all, the most useful thing in the whole set? The plastic cannister it came in, which now houses my favorite pair of socks.

Goodnight everybody, anybody,
Ruth

The Gateway of Sorts

So here I am, my first blog post. Because of the overly cheesy blog title, I don't know if anyone will read this. I really don't care. The point of this blog, is that I can feel like maybe someone's hearing what I have to say.

This is my proclamation of inspiration.

I'm not going to whine that my life is terrible. I'm not going to say that the world's turned against me. I'm just a naturally introverted person who finds freedom in writing-- poetry, stories, songs, (thus the title,) and now, this blog. I have a lot of trouble expressing myself openly to others, even though I have a lot of ideas.
So, here it is. My brand new blog. My place to scream to the world, the gateway of sorts to confidance. The crutch that will help me be, possibly, a little more open outside my little world. There will likely be ranting, commentary on life, some very biased personal opinions, a poem or two, and quite likely the occasional random picture of my gerbil. Who knows, maybe I'll even pick up a few followers? You never really know until you enter the rabbit hole I guess. (And yes, I did just watch Alice in Wonderland, thank-you-very-much.)

Here goes something,
Ruth
